A Roguelite With A Music Score To Shake The Earth

About The Game

Vilde is a face paced first person shooter in the form of a Roguelite, you will be blasting your way through enemies and collecting tons of loot and upgrades along the way. Did I mention there is awesome music too.

The Hub

As one has come to expect with a Roguelite every run starts at the hub and Vilde is no different in this aspect. Your hub acts as your safe haven so let’s dive into this little area a little more before we dive further into the gameplay loop.

Within the hub you will find a few things you can do one of them is to interact with the barrel that seems to have someone in it. Talking to them will give the player a little story each time.

There is a training dummy with an active DPS counter underneath allowing you To see how much DPS you are dealing each second. Next door to this high tech toy you can access a box where you can use all the weapons you have discovered through your runs, this mechanic allows you to see what weapon or weapon combinations are best suited to you and your play style.

Now the only other thing I could find on the luxurious ship is the charter map which start our run upon interacting with the charter map we get an option menu which allows us to choose our difficulty, we only get easy to start with because we are not that good yet.

Gameplay Loop

Now as you can imagine with most roguelite you choose the difficulty you enter the map and away you go on a killing spree, here its broken down into sections. entering a segment will throw up barricades around you until you have dispatched the enemies and looted.

Once the last enemy dies a chest will spawn and this will either contain a choice of 3 passive abilities, a choice of 3 skills that you can use to your advantage or weapons, a mix of all of the options is also one of the box pulls

This cycle repeats through the level until you come to a boss room, from what I could tell the first boss was always the same I could be wrong in saying this however this is how it seemed.

The Music

Now I really wish I had to chance to talk to whoever is behind the music for this game because it hits hard. From the start of the mission the music is soft with a little beat behind it but as you progress further into the mission the music changes, During fight scenes the track is more has more bass and eventually it just drops into a filthy almost dubstep like track and its so good. So if you are the one behind the music for this game don’t hesitate to reach out we would love to chat about the inspiration behind this and how you come to this final product.

Our Thoughts

While the bosses do not seem to change the game is still hard and gritty, the music is fun, catchy and has no business being this good. The gameplay overall is really good along with movement and other gameplay mechanics they synergise very well. We had no issues while playing the game and no crashes or bugs either. Game was reviewed on a laptop running an intel I5- 12400H with 16gb DDR5 ram and a RTX 3050 4gb.
