About the Game
Seth is a sci-fi based Rougelite that is set in the time of pharaohs, There is some back story to the game however I wont be spoiling anything but I will give you what is already out there. Seth is a god of the desert and is on a mission to obliterate the Legions of Apophis.

The Hub / Pyramid
You have to start somewhere like you do with any Rougelite well in Seth you start in a Pyramid but for the sake of this Preview we will call it a the hub. In the hub you have the ability to choose your weapon, currently you can choose from three weapons a shotgun, a bow and a hand cannon each come with there own play styles of sorts. There is a training dummy within the starting hub to so you can test out all the weapons before you head out on your run. Once you are comfortable with your choice then all you need to do is head to the door and your on a run.

The Run
You start the run to some epic Egyptian electric mix and its heavenly to the ears, the arena or zone that your in is very true to form with gold and blues it looks exactly how one would imagine a sci-fi game set in this time. After heading down a short set of stairs your are met with your first power up in picking this up you are met with a screen and you get a choose from a set of three upgrades to your character. The loop here so fair seems to be one of Hades in which you beat a room and get a power-up then you choose a door in which will give you health money or whatever is actually displayed within the door that your about to take to collect this power-up you simple interact with the door and its yours. I would love to say I actually managed to beat a run but I didn’t the game is seriously fast paced but I loved every moment I spent in this.

Questions We Asked The Devs
We got talking to the team and we asked them a few questions nothing major but more questions we wanted to ask ourselves so we have included them below.
Q: What inspired you to make the game?
A: We drew a lot of inspiration from Hades and Doom. From Hades, we loved the Rougelite mechanics, and mythological themes.
Q: What plans do you have for the game once it is released?
A:Post-launch, we’re planning to expand the game with more gods, new weapons, and possibly a DLC. If possible
Q: Did anything inspire the art direction of the game?
A: Yes — Stargate was a major influence on our art direction. Its mix of ancient mythology with futuristic elements gave us a strong visual foundation.
Q: Where did the inspiration for the music come from?
A: or the music, I wanted to reflect the two sides of the environment : "Middle East but with a sci-fi twist". I ended up mixing the two themes by having a base like what you'd hear in a movie taking place in the desert, and something more aggressive and mysterious with all these modern elements. It had to also reflect gameplay, and change intensity whenever something really epic was happening, like a boss fight. So for these I pushed it even further by replacing some of the instruments with heavy guitars and synths, to really drive in the fact that the player was doing something epic, playing as a force of nature tearing its way through waves of monsters.

Our Thoughts / Overview
Seth is a rougelite fps shooter with homage to old school classics such as Quake, the game plays out run by run and you can really feel the passion and inspiration taking from other Rougelite. The combat is fast paced there isn’t much room for mistake which keeps you on edge and always moving, the music is amazing too. We didn’t experience any bugs with our play session and that’s a bonus on its own.
