Having played through Journey to a savage planet I was pretty hyped when raccoon logic studios asked me to cover Revenge of the Savage Planet.
Revenge of the Savage Planet does things a little differently to the first game and the major one is that the game is now in third person which I prefer to be honest while I don’t mind first person games, third person just feels better.
One of the main reasons I like third person views is that you can see all your cosmetic items and Revenge of the Savage Planet has tons of those.

After a short tutorial you will encounter your base this is where you will be living out of you can interact with tons of things here from the TV and computer all the way to clothing customisations and decking out your living quarters (more on the later).
The first zone we get to explore is a plains of sorts with lots of trees, mountains and lakes. You will be doing a lot of jumping from platform to platform here, the area is really nice and vibrate and you can really get lost in just how beautiful the area is.
When out in the world you will pick up currency (it’s not called that but for the sake of the review now it is) you will use this currency to unlock upgrades for our character each upgrade allows you to better your character or explore new areas you once couldn’t explore keeping the game feeling fresh.
On your travels you will find boxes that give you money this allows you to design your base you can place things from kitchen counters all the way to neon burger signs and the customisation is surprisingly fun. It’s also worth noting that most of the placeable housing items are interactive too.

Coop within the game is chaotic and seriously fun, we loved the fact you are not stuck to your partner, you can be on one planet and your partner can be customising the home hub and we dig this design choice there is nothing more annoying that getting teleported your partner because they took three steps.
Now while the game is glorious in its own right we did experience some bugs/ annoyances nothing ground breaking. When interactive with the computer at home and your coop partner enters a cutscenes you will lose audio 80 percent of the time.

We experienced a lot of frame drops especially in the second zone of the game which is a lot more open planned than the previous zone. We were playing on the base playstation 5s it is worth noting that this isn’t game breaking nor will it stop most playing but it can be annoying also something that could easily be fixed with a QoL patch.
The only other thing other than this is the character’s voice can get on your nerves a little bit after a decent play session you can’t change it or lower the audio on just the voice.
Overall the game is a seriously fun coop playground of chaos and we can definitely get behind this one.
