“A Beautifully Crafted Rhythm Side Scroller”
About The Game
After the Collapse, humankind has been forced to live underground. It’s estimated that only 1% of the world population has survived. Under the old city of Barcelona stands ANTRO. A dirty and dark hole divided into geographical strata where the inhabitants of the lowest levels fight for survival doing forced labor, while the ones in the highest levels rule over the new underground world.
The government has become a totalitarian system, handing over the power to a corporation based on technological overproduction and the automation of sectors known as La Cúpula. Freedom of speech has been censored. Art and music, forbidden. And a rebellion seems to be coming to life inside the den in which they’re living.
Story
Through out the game you will get little bits of story, the most interesting pieces of the story given to you are the ones that are between Nitch and his sister its a shame we do not find out his sisters name though. I wont spoil too much in this written article however there is going to be a gameplay element to this too.

Gameplay
ANTRO is a side scroller with music and rhythm elements too it, throughout the game you will be picking up collectables as well as spray painting things when you come across a can on the ground. The game swaps between player controlled moments and during the music phases the game will run for you but you still need to hit the right buttons for jumping and sliding.
Later into the game these music scene can become quite difficult as you will need to jump and hit something mid air land and then slide under something only to jump other something immediately afterwards.

Cinematics / Music
Now this is where the game shines and wow does it shine while the gameplay loop might be simplistic you can tell the team really went all out on the cinematic and music direction on this game so lets start this with the cinematics.
As you play through ALTRO the camera will be doing its own thing and it does it beautifully you might be walking across a pole and the camera pans round to give some extra depth to the dingy living conditions underground. The one major scene that actually took me back is a moment where you are walking through a court yard and the character moves off on a diagonal path but the camera tracks him passing by pillars of the court yard as it moves ( I will make a gif to show because its so cool)
Now lets get to the music in ALTRO is pretty diverse it has Hip-hop, R&B, Rap, Electro, and more. The artists that worked on these songs are actually so good and while non of the songs are in English that I can remember I was bopping along the entire time. The first song hooked me and I sat here and played the entire game in one sitting and I do not regret it one bit.

Our Thoughts
ALTRO is an amazing title, the music synergises perfectly with the game and the amount of attention to detail really pays off here, the camera work during the music scenes is exceptional, The game plays very smooth and even though they recommended an I7 to play this I managed it perfectly on an I5.
I would highly recommend ALTRO to anyone that wants to play it and at the time of this review ALTRO is on £11 on an introductory offer and the game is well worth that value considering the amount of content that you get, while the campaign is relatively short there are extra and other bits to get stuck into aswell.
